Weekend at Bernies a.k.a. Why the Rolling Stones should have called it a day--years ago

Dear Lord in heaven. Wasn't that halftime show a classic case of hiring someone on reputation alone? If Mick can only hit 3 out of 5 notes, we shouldn't have to be subjected to it. I never cease to be amazed that Keith Richards is able to function--what with the fact he has been dead for like 7 years. Even the wardrobe malfunction of 2004/supposed loving between Janet and Justin was less painful to watch than this.

For all you people out there who are still buying tickets to Rolling Stones concerts, STOP it. For the love of God and country. STOP! If you people keep buying, they'll keep doing farewell tours.

You put the tv on mute too, didn't you? Admit it.

I boycotted the halftime show because being from the Detroit area, I couldn't watch a show that featured those old idiots from across the pond. So much musical history in Detroit and they get the Rolling Stones? Blasphemy!

But, we did get to watch a funny rerun of the Simpsons, and that's what's really important now, isn't it??

Man, it's hard to sound good live, but only a band as old and rich as The Stones would have the guts to do it anyway. Everybody else fakes it. I thought it was pretty cool that they didn't care enough to fake it and just stand there mouthing the words. But I will say Keith's guitar work was ... um ... less than stellar. Then again, he does play well for a corpse. What's with the Rod Stewart "Do you think I'm sexy" haircut? And who was that base player? Are ANY of the original Stones still alive?

Did you see them making fun of the acts they chose for the National Anthem the night before on SNL? It was too funny! They sounded JUST LIKE THEM! Detroit, what a place to have a Superbowl! That was almost as bad as if they had chosen a city like ... Memphis.

Thank god, I am not alone. I only watched a minute and turned it off!

My interest in the Superbowl is such that I didn't actually know for sure what sport it was in (sport in inverted commas) until earlier today, and managed to incorrectly predict the result after the match had finished.

Did I hear about the Rolling Stones being censored for saying words like 'come' and 'cocks'? Oh, the joy. I can live without them too.

Damn...and me without a television. I LOVE life-size puppets of former rock stars!

So there was no wardrobe malfunction invloving Keith Richard's Pants?

Thank God.

i had to watch. Looking at the stones live is a morbid thing. I keep waiting for one of them to not make it through the set. I swear one of these days someone's going to have a heart attack on stage and I really don't want to miss it. Yes I'm going to hell.
