In fact, I have decided it is for me. Getting up at 10 a.m. is everything I imagined it would be.
So today when I asked Derek how the garden was looking because I was too tired and too lazy to go outside to see how it withstood the torrid heat and torrential rains while we were lollygagging on the West Coast, he said that I might need to cut back the tomatoes because they were a little out of control.
And the "Understater of the Year" award goes to D.
I went outside and there were tomato plants EVERYWHERE. As in, where the dill used to be, where the basil used to be, where the cilantro used to be. This may work out if I just want tomatoes and am willing to sacrifice the rest of the garden.
Anyone have a machete I can borrow?

10 AM...your not serious...please tell me its a big joke..lol
i will come help you tear up them tomater plnats:)
Tomatoes must be the most resilient plant ever. I swear that is the only thing that is thriving around my place too. The cucumbers seem to have stunted--there are no flowers yet. At this rate, I'm never going to get any cukes!! I guess you'll be making tomatoe sauce, tomatoe soup, etc.:)
Post a pic if you can! lol... Good luck with that. Salsa is always good...but no good without cilantro. Your stuck between a rock and a hard place my friend. :)
Christina--it's wrong, isn't it?
Marelle--you know how I feel about my tomatoes
Humor girl--I'll try to take one tonight.
Amy--my tomato sauce ROCKS!!! I'll post a recipe when I make my first batch.
they take over everything, i grew some pumpkins last year, i ended up having to remove all the tomato plants as they were strangling the pumpkins...
:0)
blue2go--if you are thinking (falsely) that I have good luck with my garden, feel free to go back to my archives to read the story on last year's squirrel. It's early yet for our tomatoes. The squirrels like to wait until they are ripe to have at it.
katya--you are obviously VERY SERIOUS about your pumpkins. I look forward to the pictures
You know what's really tasty with tomatoes, especially green ones is Chow Chow. So good with alot of things, especially hot dogs!!
Our rasberries are out of control like that...they are EVERYWHERE!
Leesa--I would kill for raspberries
